New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, has today announced that her cabinet has agreed to a trans-Tasman travel bubble with Australia, to launch by March 2021.

An exact date is yet to be confirmed, and the establishment of the bubble is pending the Australian Government’s approval, as well as ensuring both countries can maintain low COVID-19 case numbers. Ms Ardern spoke proudly of her county’s achievements in facing the virus –  ‘New Zealand currently has the lowest COVID-19 mortality rate and lowest number of active cases of OECD countries.‘

This is fantastic news in the lead up to Christmas, and will make many skiers and snowboarders happy as they can now proceed with booking their ski holidays with more peace of mind.
