Sun Peaks Resort released a master plan a few years ago that detailed loads of development and improvements planned for the resort. With some new lifts, improved restaurant capacities and options, plus some new accommodation Sun Peaks is well on its way to becoming more than just a good ski hill, but a world class ski destination resort. Here are some of the latest ‘new’ things in Sun Peaks:
New Crystal Chairlift
Introducing the new and improved Crystal Chairlift. Constructed to replace the existing Crystal Chair which has been in operation since 1979 this is a much needed improvement. Work has been happening all summer and the final chairs were recently loaded. Now all we need is some snow and for the season to start on 21 November to see it in action.
The new chair will increase uphill capacity by 20% while also having a new top station location at Top of the World.
Fondue Stube
Sun Peak’s newest restaurant which opened at the start of the 2019-20 ski season brings a little European Alps charm to Sun Peaks. Fondue Stube offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with traditional cheese, meat, and chocolate fondue, only with the finest ingredients. Top off this one-of-a kind resort dining experience with the perfect wine from their expertly curated wine list.
Fondue Stube is located within the Sun Peaks Lodge on the main Village Stroll. Reservations are recommended.
Magic Cattleguard Taps & Takeout
The Magic Cattleguard Taps & Takeout west of the village offers an expansive menu, covering breakfast, lunch and dinner. They offer sit down service and fast takeout options. Wet your whistle at their full bar or get your caffeine fix with one of their espresso drink options. Whether you’re looking for a filling brunch or a latte and a sandwich to go, they have something for you.
