Queenstown is the most popular ski holiday destination in New Zealand, and on the doorstep of some incredible ski and snowboard resorts.
A short drive or shuttle bus ride will take you to one of four nearby resorts - namely Coronet Peak, the Remarkables, Cardrona or Treble Cone. Each mountain offers something different and with two different lift tickets to choose from (or get both), the choice is yours each day!
Queenstown itself is vibrant town on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, surrounded by stunning snowcapped mountains. Well known for the adventure activities on offer such as Bungee Jumping, Sky Diving and Jet Boating, Queenstown is now also famous for its range of excellent dining options, nightlife and shopping.

Facts about Skiing Queenstown

Coronet Peak

Twenty minutes drive from Queenstown, Coronet Peak is the closest ski area. Spectacular roller coaster terrain makes Coronet Peak ski area one of New Zealand's most exciting ski resort destinations for snow lovers of any ability. The NZ Superpass lift ticket is valid at Coronet Peak, as well as the Remarkables. Coronet Peak offers childcare from 3 months old, and kids ski school from 3 years of age. Need a day off? You can exchange your Superpass for other activities in Queenstown so you aren't out of pocket.  

The Remarkables

Located 45 minutes from Queenstown, the Remarkables is also on the NZ Superpass. A true alpine mountain experience, The Remarkables offers terrain and facilities to suit everyone from first timers to seasoned, expert skiers and snowboarders. Boasting three cafes and restaurants in the new base building along with the renowned Ice Bar situated on the mountain at the Curvey Basin Junction, you won't run out of refreshment and relaxation options at The Remarkables.

I recently came back from a 2 week ski holiday in Queenstown and had an absolutely amazing time with everything going very smoothly, thanks to Susan at the Ski Travel Company. I myself am a travel agent and have booked with a lot of different suppliers and I have to say every question I asked Susan were handled with ease, she really knows her stuff! Every booking I have made with the team I’ve had excellent feedback from my clients and now I can personally say this experience was excellent too!
