Nowhere Special Hostel

Nowhere Special is the quintessential modern hostel, suitable for travelers of all ages who value community, connection, and careful curation above all. The operating mantra since the napkin-stage has been the same one that’s kept RED cool for over 100 years, i.e. “Everything you need & nothing you don’t”.

Located a mere two-minute walk from the chairlift, Nowhere Special dishes out a number of floor plans catering to different needs for privacy and price, including two wheelchair-accessible units. A typical room here at Nowhere Special sleeps four and shares an en suite bathroom for each eight.

We know there’s a lot of you exploring Canada’s West on your own – or in a small group – and our goal is to provide that social mix on offer here to help create memories that last for a lifetime – on and off the mountain! The town of Rossland (just a 5-minute drive from the hostel) is incredibly friendly and this, more than anything, is what keeps people coming back. You are a stranger here but once…

Real-world needs like indoor bike and ski storage and an outdoor fire pit with two gas grills make Nowhere Special nothing like our name. A clean community kitchen with two ranges, a commercial fridge, and all the silverware and dishes you might need to build a serious après-ski spread for your “new best friends” round out the offering.

What really sets Nowhere Special apart, though, is our design. Our dedicated design team and architect have made sure that this building delivers the best in clean, modern design and usability.

Red Mountain

Guests return to RED Mountain year after year because, at this BC classic, the adventure never quits. RED is the biggest little resort you’ll ever ski because it is in the Top 10, size-wise, for North America with 3,850 acres of skiable terrain yet maintains its rugged charm as one of Canada’s first resorts. Clients cite the deep snowfall (300”), world-class gladed trees, steeps, wide-open groomers, and RED’s epic vertical as “unbeatable”. Throw in the legendary Rafters Pub, new intermediate terrain, being ranked #1 for Most Acres Per Skier in N. America, and the location on BC’s famous Powder Highway and it’s clear why RED is a true classic.
