With snow blanketing the surrounding mountains, Queenstown is the perfect base for your winter ski holiday. Winter has arrived with the season being heralded by Winter Festival which was held in June. Queenstown’s closest ski area, Coronet Peak is open and this year is offering night skiing on Wednesday nights, as well as the traditional Friday and Saturday nights. The Remarkables (which you can see from Hidden Lodge) is underway as are Cardrona, Snowfarm and Treble Cone. The season usually closes late September to early October.
