Aspen Mountain
Aspen Mountain
Where Is It? Rising out of the town of Aspen at Gondola Plaza, Aspen Mountain is the nearest ski area if you are staying in Aspen.
Who Is It For? Advanced and Expert skiers and snowboarders
From the heart of Aspen, the Silver Queen Gondola delivers you to the Sundeck at 3,400m where Rocky Mountain vistas await. At the top of the world, it’s easy to find your center.
The “town mountain” offers quad-burning groomers and steep, gladed runs all leading to the heart of Aspen—where local and global culture merge in unexpected ways and the après scene is always on.
The terrain on offer at Aspen Mountain favours advanced skiers, dominated by blues and blacks, and plenty of double black diamonds to challenge you.
Aspen Highlands
Aspen Highlands
Where Is It? About a 10 minute free shuttle ride west of Aspen town.
Who Is It For? Intermediate to Expert Skiers and Riders
Aspen Highlands avoids the spotlight and feels like the locals’ secret. It is known for being uncrowded with a good mix of terrain: wide-open groomers, chutes, trees, steeps, bowls, and more big mountain skiing.
While the Highlands does have a reasonable amount of beginner and intermediate terrain, it’s best known for its top-to-bottom steeps and attracts more experienced riders. The picturesque and panoramic views of the Maroon Bells mountains is highly enjoyable.
For the ultimate in apres, heading to Cloud 9, a European style alpine bistro with stunning views and an unrivalled party atmosphere!
